Hospital expansion continues;
new parking lot progresses

JERSEYVILLE – Construction of an improved parking lot on the north side of Jersey Community Hospital is moving forward now that the consistent rains have moved out of the area.

JCH Administrator Larry Bear said Tuesday that the new parking lot will have over 175 spaces when this phase is completed, instead of the 60 there before.

When this portion is completed, people may drive around the outer area of the campus and soon work will begin on a new entry in admitting.

“We thank everyone for their patience during this phase to create better access to the hospital,” Bear said.

“One visitor said it will be nice when it’s finished,” he added, “and it will.”
